The thing I loved about Meat Loaf most was his long time collaborator/songwriter, Jim Steinman. I've heard some of Loaf's non-Steinman penned material and it pales in comparison. The two of them went together like Elton John & Bernie Taupin.

I also really dig Steinman's 1981 album, Bad For Good which was supposed to have been the follow-up to Bat Out of Hell but Steinman got sick of waiting for Meat Loaf to get his voice back so he recorded the album himself. His German musical, Tanz der Vampire is also pretty good as was his collaboration with Andrew Lloyd Weber, Whistle Down the Wind.

Thanks a lot, Perplexio, for that piece of information, I really never knew any intricate details about Steinman, but your comment and the comparison with Sir Elton John and Bernie Taupin has aroused my interest upon his album "Bad For Good" that you mentioned above... Thanks again for the same, and I am definitely gonna listen a bit more albums of Meatloaf( I wasn't a really big fan till now, because I haven't heard much of his songs actually!)

Thanks for sharing. This artist influenced me a lot, a reason why I started to play instruments. I am into playing the piano now, and I am still learning but I'm having a blast. Thanks again!
